The Silver Spring Start-Up Initiative.
We’ve joined with other business leaders in an initiative to try and broaden the landscape of our business-friendly community here in downtown Silver Spring. If you are a small start-up and you are looking to take your venture to new heights, then look no further! We think we have the perfect place for you! Located in Montgomery County Maryland just outside of the nation’s capital, lies the largest growing community outside of Washington DC. We have great housing options, multiple forms of public transportation, great schools and a wonderful and diverse community. We invite you to get in early on a great opportunity to be neighbors with some of the wonderful businesses and institutions that already call Silver Spring home. We would love to see your logo amongst companies like Curiosity Stream, United Therapeutics, (AFI) American Film Institute, Urban Radio One, Lucky Dog Films and Danya International, just to name a few. We offer tons of small office space and we are working with realtors willing to make unique leasing deals to make this more than appealing to you. Our goal is to create our version of Silicon Valley right here, with you tapping our local talent and re-investing in our community to make our city a desired destination for start-ups which creates employment opportunities. We are currently working to bring Silver Spring’s first annual Tech Summit which will be a day of exciting events. Participants will enjoy experiences from job fairs, workshops (ex: learn how to launch a successful podcast), meeting with law firms that specialize in helping start-ups, a walking tour of available office spaces, a midday exhibition by our local school’s programs from STEM and coding, to learning more about MCPS’s outdoor garden programs, and finally end the evening with Tipsy Tech, a networking event where start-ups will be allowed to pitch their company to angel investors. This will be a day where you will move about, meet some of the businesses that make us so appealing and enjoy lunch specials at participating sponsors’ restaurants.
